Over 1,000 Injured as Hezbollah Pagers Explode in Alleged Israeli Cyberattack
Sep 17, 2024, 02:28 PM
Hundreds of Hezbollah members were injured across Lebanon when their encrypted communication pagers exploded in an apparent cyberattack allegedly carried out by Israel. The explosions occurred simultaneously in multiple locations, including Beirut and other areas in Lebanon. Reports indicate that Israel hacked into the communication devices, causing the batteries to overheat and explode. The Lebanese Health Ministry has urged citizens to discard their pagers and has called for blood donations to aid the injured. Among the wounded are senior Hezbollah commanders and the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon. The incident, described as a mass casualty event, has resulted in over 1,000 injuries, with at least five people critically wounded. High-tech drones were reportedly used to trigger the detonations.
