Turkey will reopen its embassy in Damascus on Saturday, December 14, restoring diplomatic relations with Syria after a 12-year hiatus, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced. Fidan stated that Turkey has been engaged in negotiations with Russia and Iran to ensure a peaceful resolution in Syria and minimize loss of life.
