Trump Signals He Will Grant TikTok 90-Day Extension, Announcement Expected Monday
Jan 18, 2025, 05:45 PM
President-elect Donald Trump stated in an interview with NBC News's Kristen Welker that he will 'most likely' grant TikTok a 90-day extension to avoid a potential ban in the United States after he assumes office on Monday. Trump added, "If I decide to do that, I'll probably announce it on Monday," indicating that he hasn't made a final decision yet. The extension would provide TikTok's Chinese parent company, ByteDance, additional time to address national security concerns or negotiate a sale to a U.S. entity.
