President-elect Trump Won't Rule Out Military or Economic Coercion to Take Greenland, Panama Canal
Jan 7, 2025, 05:09 PM
President-elect Donald Trump, speaking in Palm Beach, Florida, refused to rule out the use of military force or economic coercion to take control of Greenland and the Panama Canal. When asked by reporter David Sanger of The New York Times if he could assure the world that the United States would not use military or economic means to gain control of these areas, Trump responded, 'No. I can't assure you on either of those two. We need them for economic security. It might be that you'll have to do something.'
