Trump Asks Supreme Court to Delay Jan. 19 TikTok Ban to Pursue 'Political Resolution'
Dec 28, 2024, 12:02 AM
President-elect Donald Trump has asked the US Supreme Court to pause a law that would ban the social media platform TikTok on January 19, the day before his inauguration. In a legal filing on Friday, Trump's lawyers requested the court to delay enforcement of the ban to allow his incoming administration to pursue a "political resolution" to the issue. The law requires TikTok, owned by Chinese company ByteDance, to be sold or face a ban in the United States. Unless blocked, the law would take effect on January 19.
