North Korea Sends Over 200 Balloons with Trash, Sewage, and Propaganda to South Korea
May 29, 2024, 02:40 AM
South Korea has detected over 200 balloons launched from North Korea, carrying trash, excrement, sewage, and propaganda leaflets. This action is believed to be a response to anti-North Korea leaflets sent by South Korean activists in May. The balloons have landed in various locations, including near the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), and some are still airborne. South Korean authorities have dispatched CRRT and EOD teams to manage the situation and have warned residents near the border to be on alert. Some reports indicated nearly 100 balloons initially, with others describing them as military surveillance balloons.
