Plurality of Americans Support Trump's Guilty Verdict on 34 Counts, Polls Show
Jun 2, 2024, 02:00 PM
A plurality of Americans believe that former President Donald Trump's guilty verdict on all 34 counts in his hush money trial was correct, according to a new ABC News/Ipsos poll. The poll found that 50% of Americans think the verdict was correct, while 49% believe Trump should end his 2024 presidential campaign as a result. Additionally, 47% of respondents think the charges against Trump were politically motivated, while 38% disagree. A CBS News poll also indicates that views on Trump's guilt or innocence remain unchanged following the verdict, with 57% of Americans now believing the jury reached the right verdict. A Reuters/Ipsos survey of registered voters also reflects similar sentiments.
