Trump Hints at Pardoning January 6 'Hostages' After Inauguration
Jan 19, 2025, 11:05 PM
President Donald Trump indicated that he will announce a decision tomorrow regarding the individuals incarcerated for their involvement in the January 6th Capitol events, suggesting potential pardons. Addressing a crowd at the Capital One Arena, Trump said, "Tomorrow, everyone in this very large arena will be very happy with my decision on the J6 hostages. I think you'll be very, very happy. I would say about 99.9% in this beautiful arena." The remark has led to speculation that pardons may be forthcoming for those convicted in connection with the Capitol riot, possibly as one of his first acts after being sworn in and signing executive orders at the Capitol.
