NDP Wins Elmwood-Transcona By-Election by 4.1 Points with 48.1% of Vote

The New Democratic Party (NDP) has secured a victory in the Elmwood-Transcona by-election, with candidate Leila Dance winning 48.1% of the vote. Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) candidate Colin Reynolds followed closely with 44% of the vote, a 15.9% increase from the previous election. Liberal Party of Canada (LPC) candidate Ian MacIntyre garnered 4.8%, while the Green Party of Canada (GPC) candidate received 1.3%. The People's Party of Canada (PPC) and the Canadian Future Party (CFP) candidates received 1.2% and 0.5% respectively. This result marks a significant shift from the 2021 election, where the NDP won the seat by nearly 22 points. The final margin of victory for the NDP was 4.1 points in the Winnipeg-area riding.
