U.S. Airstrikes in Former Assad Regime Areas Kill 12 ISIS Terrorists
Dec 16, 2024, 05:36 PM
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) conducted precision airstrikes in Syria on Monday, December 16, targeting known ISIS camps and operatives. The strikes resulted in the deaths of 12 ISIS terrorists, with no civilian casualties reported. The operations were part of ongoing efforts to disrupt, degrade, and defeat ISIS, preventing the terrorist group from conducting external operations and ensuring it does not seek opportunities to reconstitute in central Syria. The strikes were carried out in areas formerly controlled by the Assad regime and Russia, according to CENTCOM. CENTCOM, working with allies and partners in the region, remains committed to the sustained and permanent defeat of ISIS, as stated by Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla.
