Israeli Strike Kills Five Journalists in Marked Press Vehicle; Israel Says They Were Militants
Dec 26, 2024, 12:17 PM
An Israeli airstrike in the central Gaza Strip overnight killed five Palestinian journalists who were in a clearly marked press vehicle outside Al-Awda Hospital in the Nuseirat refugee camp, according to Palestinian health officials and media reports. The journalists, who worked for the Al-Quds Today TV channel, were sleeping in their van when it was struck. One of the victims, reporter Ayman Al-Jadi, was waiting outside the hospital for his wife, who was in labor with their first child. The Palestinian Government Media Office stated that this attack brings the total number of journalists killed in the recent conflict to 201 since October. The Israeli military confirmed the strike, stating that it targeted Islamic Jihad militants posing as journalists.
