Chad's Forces Repel Boko Haram Attack Near Presidential Palace During Chinese Minister's Visit

Gunfire erupted near the presidential palace in N'Djamena, Chad's capital, on Wednesday evening. According to reports from multiple sources, including AFP and residents, heavy gunfire was heard in the vicinity of the palace. Witnesses reported convoys of military vehicles heading toward the presidency. Some sources, such as Al Arabiya, indicated that Boko Haram militants carried out an attack near the palace, resulting in casualties. It was also reported that President Mahamat Idriss Deby was inside the palace at the time. A source close to the president stated that the attack was repelled and the situation is under control. Notably, the incident occurred during a visit by the Chinese Foreign Minister.
