May 19, 2024, 01:14 PM
A Mi-171 helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and East Azerbaijan Governor Ayatollah Al-Hashem experienced a 'hard landing' in the East Azerbaijan province of Iran. The incident occurred near Jolfa, close to the Azerbaijan border. Rescue teams have been dispatched to the site, but difficult weather conditions are hampering their efforts. The condition of President Raisi and the other passengers is currently unknown. The helicopter was part of a convoy of three helicopters and was returning from a visit to Azerbaijan.
