Oct 20, 2024, 07:00 AM
The defense ministers of Japan, the United Kingdom, and Italy have agreed to accelerate the joint development of a next-generation fighter jet. The agreement was reached on Saturday during a meeting between Japan's Gen Nakatani, Britain's John Healey, and Italy's Guido Crosetto. The future fighter jet, which is set to replace the F-2 and Tempest, is expected to be in service by 2035. The ministers discussed skills, economic benefits, and key milestones, and announced the establishment of a trilateral government organization to oversee the project.
