KLM Boeing 737-800 Flight KL1204 Makes Emergency Landing in Norway After Hydraulic Failure; 176 Passengers and 6 Crew Safe
Dec 29, 2024, 11:12 AM
A KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Boeing 737-800, flight KL1204, made an emergency landing at Torp Sandefjord Airport in Norway on December 28, 2024, after experiencing a hydraulic failure shortly after takeoff from Oslo. The aircraft, which was en route to Amsterdam, diverted to the nearby airport after pilots detected a malfunction at approximately 4,900 feet. Upon landing, the plane skidded off the runway and came to rest on soft grass. Fortunately, all 176 passengers and 6 crew members aboard were unharmed. This incident is part of a troubling pattern, as it marks the third aviation incident reported within a 24-hour period, following a deadly crash in South Korea and another incident involving an Air Canada flight in Canada.
