KLM Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Oslo Torp Sandefjord Airport, No Injuries Among 182 On Board
Dec 29, 2024, 07:45 AM
A KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Boeing 737-800, operating as flight KL1204 from Oslo to Amsterdam, was forced to make an emergency landing at Oslo Torp Sandefjord Airport in Norway due to a hydraulic failure shortly after takeoff. The incident occurred on December 28, 2024, when the aircraft, carrying 176 passengers and 6 crew members, veered off runway 18 and came to a stop in the soft grass near a taxiway after a loud noise was heard during takeoff. No injuries were reported among the 182 people on board. The plane had initially departed from Oslo Airport but diverted to Sandefjord Airport, located approximately 110 kilometers south of Oslo, following the detection of the malfunction in the hydraulic system. KLM stated that all passengers and crew were unharmed and being taken care of, with passengers evacuated using mobile stairs, while the circumstances of the incident are under investigation.
