Gold Apollo Denies Making AR-924 Pagers Used in Lebanon and Syria Blasts, 12 Dead
Sep 18, 2024, 08:32 AM
Taiwanese company Gold Apollo has denied manufacturing the AR-924 pagers that exploded in Lebanon and Syria. The devices, which bore the Gold Apollo brand, were actually produced by BAC Consulting KFT, a company based in Budapest, Hungary. Gold Apollo founder Hsu Ching-Kuang clarified that while the brand was licensed to BAC, the production was entirely outsourced. The explosions, which reportedly targeted Hezbollah communications networks, resulted in the deaths of at least 12 people on Tuesday. Gold Apollo emphasized that it had no direct involvement in the production of these devices, and Taiwanese authorities have pledged to assist in the investigation.
