Gold Apollo Denies Making AR-924 Pagers Used in Lebanon, Syria Explosions
Sep 18, 2024, 08:32 AM
Taiwanese company Gold Apollo has denied manufacturing the AR-924 pagers that exploded in Lebanon and Syria, which were reportedly used by Hezbollah fighters. According to Gold Apollo's founder, Hsu Ching-Kuang, the devices bore the company's brand but were actually produced by BAC Consulting KFT, a company based in Budapest, Hungary. The explosions, which targeted Hezbollah's communications network, resulted in nine deaths. Gold Apollo emphasized that the production was outsourced and that payments from BAC were routed through the Middle East. Taiwanese authorities have pledged to assist in the investigation.
