Taiwan's Gold Apollo Denies Making AR-924 Pagers Used in Deadly Hezbollah Explosions in Lebanon and Syria

Taiwanese company Gold Apollo has denied manufacturing the AR-924 pagers used in deadly explosions in Lebanon and Syria. The company clarified that while the pagers bore its brand, they were actually produced by BAC Consulting KFT, a company based in Budapest, Hungary. The explosions, which targeted Hezbollah's communications network, occurred on Tuesday and resulted in the deaths of at least twelve people and injuries to thousands. Gold Apollo's founder, Hsu Ching-Kuang, stated that the production of these pagers had been outsourced to the Hungarian firm, which had a license to use the Gold Apollo brand. Reports indicate that the pagers contained explosive charges that were detonated, and payments for the devices were routed through the Middle East.
