IDF Intensifies Operations in Lebanon and Gaza, Eliminates 50 Hezbollah Terrorists and Hits 280 Targets
Oct 12, 2024, 04:36 PM
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have intensified their operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, resulting in significant casualties and damage to Hezbollah's military infrastructure. Over the weekend, the IDF eliminated 50 Hezbollah terrorists through close-quarters combat and airstrikes. Additionally, the Israeli Air Force and artillery units struck over 200 Hezbollah positions, destroying numerous rocket launchers and surface-to-surface missiles. The IDF's 91st Division has seized terrain in southern Lebanon to prevent direct fire attacks into Israel, supporting the goal of returning Israeli civilians to the north. Four IDF divisions are currently operating inside Lebanon as part of the mission to dismantle Hezbollah's military infrastructure along the border, including weapons caches, firing positions, and command and control sites. The IDF also targeted around 280 terror targets, including Hamas positions in Gaza. Despite these efforts, Hezbollah retains the bulk of its rank-and-file forces, although it has lost under five percent of its original fighting force over the past year.
