The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the development of 12 Industrial Smart Cities under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme. This initiative involves an investment of ₹28,602 crore and aims to boost manufacturing and job creation across India. The projects will span 10 states and are strategically planned along six major corridors, including the Golden Quadrilateral, enhancing the country's industrial infrastructure. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted the cooperative federalism involved, with both the central and state governments contributing to the initiative. The development is expected to create 40 lakh jobs and support India's goal of achieving $2 trillion in exports by 2030.
