IISc Researchers Develop Brain-Inspired Computing Platform with 16,500 Conductance States
Sep 12, 2024, 06:50 AM
Researchers at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru have developed a groundbreaking brain-inspired analog computing platform capable of storing and processing data in 16,500 conductance states within a molecular film. This innovation, reported in the journal Nature, represents a significant advancement over traditional digital computers, which are limited to two states. The research was led by Prof. Sreetosh Goswami at the Centre for Nano Science and Engineering (CeNSE) at IISc. The new technology has the potential to revolutionize AI by enabling complex tasks to be performed on personal devices.
