TSMC Begins Production of Apple A16 Chips at Phase 1 of Fab 21 in Arizona

TSMC has commenced production of Apple's A16 processors at its Arizona foundry, marking a significant milestone for both Apple and the US semiconductor industry. This development is part of the broader initiative under the CHIPS Act to bring chip manufacturing back to the United States. The A16 processors, which are two generations old, are being produced in small but notable quantities at Phase 1 of TSMC's Fab 21.
