Luigi Mangione Extradited to New York, Faces Charges Eligible for Death Penalty in CEO Killing

Luigi Mangione, 26, has been extradited to New York to face federal charges in the shooting death of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Mangione is charged with first-degree murder and killing as an act of terrorism, which carry penalties up to life in prison. Federal prosecutors have charged him with murder through the use of a firearm and a firearms offense involving a silencer, stalking, and a count of murder that could bring the death penalty if convicted. Mangione waived extradition during a court appearance in Pennsylvania and was transported to New York via plane and helicopter.
