Sep 5, 2024, 06:56 AM
Belarusian authorities have reported the shooting down of multiple drones that violated the country's airspace on the night of September 5. According to Colonel Sergey Frolov, the First Deputy Commander of the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense Forces, the drones were likely unmanned aerial vehicles. The incident occurred during a Russian attack on Ukraine, with four Shahed drones entering Belarusian airspace. Belarusian air defense systems destroyed at least one drone near Homiel. A Belarusian NGO provided video evidence claiming that the country's air force shot down two Russian drones that veered over Belarusian territory. The Belarusian Defense Ministry confirmed the airspace violation and the destruction of kamikaze drones near the State border.
