Rep. Celeste Maloy Holds 381-Vote Lead Over Colby Jenkins in Utah's 2nd District Primary, Recount Possible
Jun 28, 2024, 10:23 PM
Rep. Celeste Maloy is maintaining a narrow lead over her Republican challenger Colby Jenkins in the primary race for Utah's 2nd Congressional District. As of Friday, Maloy is ahead by just 381 votes, which is still outside the recount margin of approximately 264 votes. Jenkins' campaign is hopeful that the outstanding ballots in Washington County will bring the race within recount territory. The number of uncounted ballots is decreasing, making the race too close to call. This marks the third day of counting, and the race has not yet reached automatic recount territory despite the razor-thin margin.
