US Soldiers Assaulted in Turkey, 15 Assailants Detained

Two U.S. servicemen from the USS Wasp were assaulted by members of the Turkish Youth Union in Izmir, Turkey. The attackers placed sacks over the soldiers' heads and chanted 'Yankee, go home!' The U.S. Embassy confirmed the soldiers are now safe. Turkish authorities have detained 15 members of the nationalist group involved in the attack. The assault was reportedly in retaliation for a past incident involving American and Turkish soldiers. Fifteen assailants were detained.
