Nicaragua Appoints Michael Campbell as Non-Resident Ambassador to Taliban-Run Afghanistan

The Nicaraguan government has appointed Michael Campbell, currently its ambassador to China, as a non-resident ambassador to Taliban-run Afghanistan. This rare and unprecedented move aims to establish diplomatic ties with the diplomatically isolated Taliban regime. The appointment, reported by Nicaraguan media, has been welcomed by the Taliban in Kabul. Campbell will take on the additional role from his office in Beijing. Nicaraguan Vice President Rosario Murillo expressed gratitude to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan for their blessings on Campbell's new role.
