Magnitude 6.9 Earthquake Hits Japan's Bonin Islands, Tremors Felt in Tokyo

A significant earthquake, initially reported as magnitude 6.5 but later updated to 6.9, struck near Japan's Bonin Islands, also known as the Ogasawara Islands. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) and Japan's weather agency confirmed the quake, which was felt as far as central Tokyo. Despite the quake's strength, no tsunami warnings have been issued, and as of now, there have been no reports of casualties. Tremors were also felt in central Tokyo.
