FBI Arrests Afghan National for Election Day Massacre Plot; Officials Admit Vetting Failure
Oct 16, 2024, 01:52 PM
An Afghan national, Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi, was arrested by the FBI for allegedly plotting a massacre on Election Day in the United States. Tawhedi, who entered the country during the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, did not undergo the vetting process that the Biden-Harris administration previously claimed he had passed. Officials now admit that Tawhedi was never vetted or approved for Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) status. Tawhedi had also worked for the CIA in security operations in the past. This revelation has raised concerns about the effectiveness of the vetting process for Afghan evacuees and the overall national security under the current administration.
