Jan 10, 2025, 07:01 PM
On Friday, New Orleans police released bodycam footage showing the shootout with ISIS-inspired attacker Shamsud-Din Jabbar, who killed 14 people in a truck rampage on New Year's Day in the city's famed Bourbon Street. Jabbar fired at police from behind an airbag inside his truck after crashing into a crowd of revelers before officers fatally shot him. The footage shows officers surrounding his vehicle during the exchange. At least two officers and one bystander were injured during the shootout. New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick praised the officers, calling them 'national heroes'.
