100 North Korean Soldiers Killed, 1,000 Injured in Kursk Region: South Korea
Dec 19, 2024, 10:05 AM
At least 100 North Korean soldiers deployed to Russia have been killed, with another 1,000 injured in combat against Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region, according to South Korean lawmaker Lee Seong-kweun. The casualties were reported following a closed-door briefing by South Korea's National Intelligence Service (NIS). The high number of casualties is attributed to the North Korean troops' lack of experience in drone warfare and unfamiliarity with the open terrain where they are engaged in battle. Despite these losses, there are indications that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is preparing to train a new special operations force for potential deployment to Russia.
