Ukraine Strikes Kamensky Combine in Rostov with ATACMS, Storm Shadow Missiles; Russia Vows Response
Dec 19, 2024, 03:04 PM
On December 18, Ukraine launched a missile attack on the Kamensky Combine in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, a chemical plant in Russia's Rostov region that reportedly produces rocket fuel, including for intercontinental ballistic missiles, as well as explosives and ammunition components. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Ukraine used six U.S.-made ATACMS missiles and four British-made Storm Shadow cruise missiles in the strike, marking the first time the Rostov region was targeted with Storm Shadow missiles. Russian air defense systems claimed to have shot down all ATACMS missiles and three of the four Storm Shadow missiles, with one missile deflecting from its target and causing damage to a building at the plant. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that it would respond to the attacks.
