South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun has offered his resignation and apologized to citizens on Wednesday following involvement in the aborted attempt to impose martial law, according to reports from Yonhap News Agency and other local media. Kim, who reportedly proposed the introduction of martial law, stated, 'I apologize for causing public confusion about martial law. I will take responsibility for all situations related to martial law.' The resignation comes amid backlash over President Yoon Suk Yeol's failed martial law declaration. Earlier, members of the South Korean Cabinet had offered to resign en masse.
