Israel Issues Final Warning to Yemen's Houthis at UNSC, Citing Iran's Support
Dec 30, 2024, 05:44 PM
Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, issued a 'final warning' to Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis during a UN Security Council meeting on Monday. Danon cautioned that the Houthis would face the same 'miserable fate' as Hamas, Hezbollah, and the regime of Bashar al-Assad if they continued their missile attacks on Israel. He emphasized that this was not a threat but a promise. The U.S. Ambassador Dorothy Shea also addressed the council, attributing the Houthi attacks to Iran's support, stating that the Houthis are fully enabled by Iran to launch long-range and deadly attacks on Israel, in violation of a UNSC arms embargo. The Israeli envoy further warned Iran directly, asserting Israel's readiness for all scenarios and its capability to target any location in the Middle East, including inside Iran, despite the 2,000 km distance between Israel and Yemen.
