FBI Probes New Orleans Terror Attack Leaving 10 Dead, 35 Injured; Suspect Jabbar Not Acting Alone

On January 1, 2025, a vehicle-ramming and shooting attack occurred on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, leaving at least ten people dead and 35 injured, including two police officers who were shot. The FBI announced that they are investigating the incident as an act of terrorism. The suspect, identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, was killed in a confrontation with law enforcement. FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Aletha Duncan stated, "We do not believe that Jabbar was solely responsible," and urged the public to assist in tracking down his associates. President Joe Biden confirmed that the FBI is leading the investigation into the attack. The FBI is aggressively pursuing all leads related to the incident.
