VisitHong Kong SFC in Talks to Allow Staking for Spot Ethereum ETF Issuers
May 23, 2024, 01:33 PM
Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) is in discussions to allow staking for recently approved spot Ethereum (ETH) ETFs, according to Bloomberg. This potential move would enable these ETFs to stake their holdings for additional yield, setting Hong Kong apart from the US, where such practices are not currently allowed. The decision is expected to drive more institutional demand for Ethereum. The SFC is considering this change for ETF issuers.
