The Progressive Conservatives (PC) have successfully held onto their seat in the Bay of Quinte provincial byelection in eastern Ontario. The PC candidate, Tyler Allsopp, secured the victory with 38.7% of the vote, a significant drop from their previous 49% in the 2022 election. The Liberals and NDP were unable to unseat the PCs, garnering 33.3% and 23.1% of the vote respectively. The byelection saw a notable increase in support for the Liberals, who improved by 14.8% compared to the last election, while the NDP saw a modest increase of 2.2%. The Green Party and the New Blue Party received 3.2% and 1% of the vote, respectively. The byelection was called quickly, and voter turnout reflected the competitive nature of the race. Doug Ford commented that the byelection result 'sends a clear message.'
