J&K Police Head Constable Bashir Ahmed Killed in 24-Hour Kathua Encounter with Terrorists
Sep 29, 2024, 01:45 PM
In a tragic incident in Kathua, Jammu & Kashmir, Head Constable Bashir Ahmed of the J&K Police lost his life during an encounter with terrorists. The operation, which has been ongoing for 24 hours, saw Ahmed making the ultimate sacrifice while successfully neutralizing a terrorist. Other officers, including Dysp Sukhbir and ASI Niaz, were also involved in the operation and are reported to be stable. A wreath-laying ceremony was held at Gulshan Ground in Jammu to honor Ahmed's bravery, attended by the Director of Jammu and Kashmir Police, the District Administration, and the Director General of Police. ADGP Anand Jain stated that the security forces launched the operation after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the area. The encounter has lasted for 24 hours, and there are concerns about the lack of acknowledgment from Mehbooba Mufti's side.
