Indian Army Officer and Fiancée Allege Custodial Assault and Harassment by Odisha Police, Case Transferred to Crime Branch

An Indian Army officer and his fiancée have alleged that they were beaten and harassed by Odisha Police while in custody at the Bharatpur police station in Bhubaneswar. The incident reportedly occurred after the couple filed a road-rage complaint. The couple claims custodial assault and harassment. In response to the allegations, the Odisha Police have transferred the case to the Crime Branch-CID for further investigation. The Odisha DGP has ordered a probe into the incident, and the Army has expressed its intention to take up the case with local authorities.
