Thiruvengadam, one of the 11 suspects in the murder of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Tamil Nadu chief K. Armstrong, was killed in a police encounter in Madhavaram, Chennai, on Saturday night, July 14. Armstrong was murdered on July 5 in Sembium, and Thiruvengadam, a history-sheeter, was arrested as part of the investigation. The police claim that Thiruvengadam attacked them and tried to escape during the encounter at Vegetarian Nagar, involving the Puzhal Police.
