Netanyahu's Coalition, Knesset Reject Inquiry into October 7 Attack
Jul 17, 2024, 06:00 PM
Israel's coalition members have voted down an opposition measure to establish a public inquiry into the October 7 attack. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government coalition thwarted the proposal to form an official investigative committee into the events of October 7. Netanyahu has rejected calls for an immediate inquiry into the security failures of that day. The bill proposal aimed to create a National Committee of Investigation to examine the events leading up to the October 7 Hamas massacre was also struck down by Israel's governing coalition. The decision was reported by Israeli Channel 13 and confirmed by the Knesset.
