Methane Explosion in Iran Coal Mine Kills 30, Injures 17, 24 Missing

A methane gas explosion at a coal mine in Tabas, South Khorasan Province, eastern Iran, has resulted in the deaths of at least 30 miners, according to Iranian state media. The explosion, which occurred early Sunday morning, also left 17 miners injured and has trapped over 24 others underground. Emergency workers are currently engaged in rescue operations to free the trapped miners. The mine is operated by the Madanjoo company, and the explosion occurred in blocks B and C of the mine. Initial reports indicated 19 dead and 12 injured, with a total of 69 workers present at the time of the incident.
