Oct 10, 2024, 05:13 AM
Tesla achieved a new all-time quarterly sales record in China, selling 181,138 vehicles in the third quarter of 2024. This marks a significant increase compared to the same period last year, with year-to-date sales in China up by 22,236 units. In the final week of Q3, Tesla China saw a record 22,600 registrations, contributing to a strong finish for the quarter. Vehicles delivered from Tesla's Shanghai factory rose for a third consecutive month, with approximately 88,321 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles shipped. Globally, Tesla and BYD remain dominant in the EV market. Despite Tesla's success in China, its year-to-date sales in Europe have dropped compared to last year. In contrast, BMW's total global deliveries in Q3 fell 13% year-over-year to 540,882 vehicles, with sales in China plunging nearly 30% to 147,691 units. However, BMW's battery electric vehicle deliveries increased 10.1% year-over-year.
