BMW Surpasses Tesla in July European EV Sales with 14,869 BEVs

BMW has surpassed Tesla in electric vehicle sales in the European Union for the first time, according to a report by market research firm JATO Dynamics. In July, BMW sold 14,869 battery electric vehicles (BEVs), approximately 300 more than Tesla, which registered 14,561 models. This marks a significant shift in the European EV market, as BMW reported a 35% increase in sales from the previous year, while Tesla experienced a 16% decline in registrations. Despite this monthly lead, Tesla's year-to-date sales remain higher. Volkswagen, Volvo, and Audi followed BMW and Tesla in the rankings for July. This milestone occurred during the third quarter.
