Nio ET9 Becomes First in China with Steer-by-Wire Mass Production Approval, Says CEO William Li
Dec 9, 2024, 07:28 AM
Nio's ET9 sedan has received approval for mass production of its steer-by-wire (SBW) technology, making it the first mass-produced vehicle in China to feature this innovation. The SBW system, which replaces traditional mechanical linkages with electronic controls, has been granted clearance by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. This marks a significant milestone for Nio, as the ET9, a four-seater executive sedan, is set to showcase advanced technical capabilities. Further details about the ET9 and its features are expected to be revealed at the Nio Day 2024 event on December 21, according to Nio CEO William Li.
