PACT Act Marks Largest Expansion in Veterans' Health Care with Over 1 Million Claims Approved
May 21, 2024, 01:42 PM
The PACT Act, passed in 2022, has become a significant milestone in veterans' healthcare, with over 1 million claims approved for veterans exposed to toxic substances such as burn pits and Agent Orange. This legislation, championed by House Democrats and key figures like Senator Tester, Senator Baldwin, Rep. Joe Courtney, Rep. Mark Takano, and others, represents the largest expansion of veterans' health care in history. The White House announced that more than 880,000 veterans are now receiving disability benefits through the PACT Act across all 50 states. The act has been instrumental in providing long-overdue benefits and ensuring that veterans and their families receive the care they deserve. President Biden and other lawmakers, including Whip Katherine Clark, Rep. Sharice Davids, Sen. John Fetterman, and Sen. Ben Cardin, continue to emphasize their commitment to supporting servicemembers and their families.
