Biden's PACT Act Grants Over One Million Claims for 880,000 Veterans Exposed to Toxins
May 21, 2024, 05:32 PM
The White House announced that more than one million claims have been granted through the PACT Act. This landmark legislation, signed into law by President Joe Biden in 2022, provides expanded healthcare and benefits to veterans exposed to toxic substances such as burn pits and Agent Orange. According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, over 880,000 veterans across all 50 states are now receiving disability benefits through the PACT Act. The Act represents the most significant expansion of veterans' benefits in over 30 years and has brought more than $5.7 billion to veterans and their survivors. President Biden highlighted the PACT Act's benefits during a visit to New Hampshire, emphasizing the administration's commitment to ensuring no veteran is left behind. House Democrats and Senator Tester played crucial roles in passing the Act, which has also approved claims for 32,000 Ohio veterans and 21,000 Michigan veterans.
