Microsoft Beats Q1 Expectations with $65.6B Revenue, $3.30 EPS; Azure Revenue Up 34%

Microsoft Corp. reported its first-quarter fiscal year 2025 earnings, exceeding analysts' expectations on both revenue and earnings per share (EPS). The company announced revenue of $65.6 billion, surpassing the estimated $64.51 billion, and EPS of $3.30, beating the expected $3.10. Microsoft's cloud revenue reached $38.9 billion, higher than the estimated $38.11 billion, with Azure and other cloud services revenue growing by 34% year-over-year. Net income increased by 11% to $24.7 billion, and operating income rose by 14% to $30.6 billion. Gross margin was 69%, down 2 percentage points year-over-year, and operating margin stood at 47%, down 1 percentage point. The Productivity and Business Processes segment reported revenue of $28.3 billion, up 12%, while Intelligent Cloud revenue was $24.09 billion, up 20%. Commercial bookings increased by 23% year-over-year. LinkedIn revenue grew by 10%. Microsoft's strong performance was driven by robust growth in its cloud and AI services.
