CAF Awards Super Eagles 3-0 Win Over Libya, Fines Libya $50,000, Boosting AFCON 2025 Hopes
Oct 26, 2024, 01:38 PM
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has awarded the Super Eagles of Nigeria a 3-0 victory over Libya in their African Cup of Nations qualifier match. The decision came after Libya was fined $50,000 for maltreatment, following a travel debacle that led to the match's cancellation. The Disciplinary Committee, which held a video conference on Wednesday where both parties presented their explanations, made the ruling. BeIN Sports revealed the details of the conference. With this ruling, Nigeria now has 10 points and is on the verge of qualifying for AFCON 2025, while Libya is eliminated.
